Throughout the year 2023, we closely monitored the collaboration between our member, the National Recycling Agency Slovakia (NARA-SK), and the Czech association CZECH.UP in the development, education, and dissemination of the Erasmus+ project CyberBOX.
On February 15, 2023, a presentation on “Examples of Integrated Regional Investments in Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region” took place at the Technical University in Zvolen. One of the integrated investments within the GEMER – MALOHONT region is an investment in education. New approaches require digitization in the education process, the use of artificial intelligence, and, most importantly, sparking an interest in high school students to learn and teach others.
Pavel Nácovský’s contribution from the CZECH.UP association on gamified knowledge training on the CZECH.UP JukeBOX platform caught the attention of not only the members of the REPRIK cluster but also the representatives of the Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region, led by PhDr. Ján Beljak, PhD, Vice-Chairman for Regional Development in Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region. The format of content creation, individual content LP on the CZECH.UP JukeBOX platform, piqued the interest of the REPRIK representatives to follow the progress of the Erasmus+ CyberBOX project in its progress.
Together with the members of the CyberBOX project – the CZECH.UP association and NARA-SK, we observed their activities at the KONEKT Advisory Center for Youth in Zvolen, the work of methodologists with students from the Youth Parliament of Zvolen, students from the Center for Children and Families in Jesenské, and students from high schools in Košice.
What intrigued us the most was a separate segment within the international conference ENERGO FUTURA 2023 in Košice. During this conference dedicated to the CyberBOX project, we understood that digitalization for gamified knowledge training is not based on repetitive games but on the will to learn and teach others. Denisa Uhlířová, the main methodologist of the CZECH.UP JukeBOX platform, managed to captivate educators from
universities in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. She demonstrated how the way we involve artificial intelligence and critical thinking in addressing various life situations is unique. It creates new forms of educating the young generation, who, thanks to gamified training on the JukeBOX platform with various LP, will learn about the application of the European Green Deal in everyday life, learn to recognize values beyond money in economics, and utilize their education for the education of others in the social sphere.
Therefore, the Regional Industrial Innovation Cluster Rimavská kotlina REPRIK is preparing to use the JukeBOX platform for systematic education of young people in the GEMER – MALOHONT region for the academic year 2024-2025. Additionally, as a member of the National Platform of Energy and Environmental Clusters and Associations of Slovakia – NPEECA, REPRIK will provide this form of education for clusters associated with the Cluster Union of Slovakia – UKS.
